The City of Bonita Springs Government Channel, Comcast Cable Channel 12, is a valuable tool for providing the residents with information about governmental issues.
As such, the City’s goal shall be to focus programming on matters pertaining to civics, public health and safety, government information public education local history and topics deemed by the City to be of benefit or interest to our residents. Programming is thus based on the following:
A - Makes government more accessible and understandable.
B - Educates children and adults.
C - Fosters citizen involvement and interaction in their community.
D - Utilize television as a conduit to distribute information and educate.
E - BTV12 may also provide opportunities for local video production students to receive real world television experience through the recording of government meetings, and the creation of original video programs.
Some of the ways that BTV12 uses to achieve its mission and benefit the community include:
A - Coverage of government meetings.
B - Airtime for pre-produced government and educational programs.
C - Airtime for public service announcements.
D - Airtime for skills development programming.
E - Video bulletin board to display useful information to the community.
F - Production of original, local interest programming such as talk shows, magazine programs and documentaries.
